hmmm, akeelah and the bee and coach carter seemed to have used the same quote of kevin miller's.
when i first heard this quote while watching coach carter (last year), it didn't create a wonderful tingling inspiration, nor did i really think much about it.
however, now it just seems to strike a chord in my mind. maybe because the fear or being "powerful beyond measure" did not exactly apply to me back then.
but i realise that this year, i have indeed allowed a fear to grow within me. and now i have freaking realised, horror of all horrors that at time i am afraid of being... good. at something. when i know that i can, i am capable of.
i forgot the feeling of pride and satisfactory surging through me whenever i achieve something such as scoring the highest in class for a test, scoring a facinating "goal" during a captainball game etc.
pfft. damn it, emoocrap(((:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.hmmm, akeelah and the bee and coach carter seemed to have used the same quote of kevin miller's.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesnt serve the world. Theres nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people wont feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. Its not just in some of us; its in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
