these fragile dreams

Don't let reality crush your dreams. Let your dreams crush reality.

its mind-tickling how the situation of others can affect one so much to the extent that grief and sadness overwhelms self-awareness and rationality. take the characters from movies- Lord of the Rings, Click- they may all be just fiction but their depiction of certain roles and stories lead you to reflect on your everyday life and the little but important things that youre often insensitive about as tears unknowingly stain your whole face. when the movie ends and lights come on you feel thoroughly embarrassed even though more than half of the cinema was crying along with you (evident from the loud rummaging-for-tissues-in-the-handbag sound :)).

nevertheless, such heart-tugging scenes do not just apply to fiction but nonfiction like reality tv shows. singapore idol is one such example that people may argue is all prim and proper, happy and rosy that it's categorised under 'fake'. however, the emotions revealed as certain contestants are eliminated from the 'competition' will certainly send your tears welling up once again which i myself absolutely dont know why but just sympathy and a sense of concern or loss you feel for that 'victim' of the night.
but, i've never really been a fervent fan of his/hers!" (jay and nurul) you may ponder to yourself but the heart rules over the head as you watch clips of his/her past flash on the screen and the journey he/she has taken. maybe the sad music playing in the background has a part to play too.

:D
