lemme ask y'all a question, what's your favourite MacFood?
is it Fillet-o-Fish? or McChicken? of McFlurry? Or the salty yummy fries? Or Chicken Mcnuggets? Or the Big Mac? Or the Quarter Pounder and God knows what else they've come up with lah.
for me, it's the Chicky McNuggets!!
well, me and Mr. Mcnuggets go wayyyyy back in history when i was a little innocent girl at about the age of 5. i think. that's the usual age people refer to when they wanna talk about their childhood aniwaes. Yup. my favourite sauce to go along is Sweet &Sour. Barbeque isn't bad either. But not the latest new orange/lime sauces they've come up with. eurrgh.
Okay, i've been called weird for my McNugget-eating habits. First, i'd dip the nugget into a little bit of the sauce and bite away the skin (with the sauce) then i'd slowly proceed to bite away the skin of the circumference of the nugget. Haha. then i'd peel the skin off the 2 faces of the nugget, and eat it with the sauce. Then i'm left with the raw stripped meat of the nugget, skinless. Taking nibbles and bites, i'd slowly eat it all up! Yumm.
But recently, i've been reading this book:
then did i realise how McDonalds processed their "food". especially my yummy chickie nuggets.
Did you know that one piece of nugget can contain bits and pieces of chicken from all over the world? Yup. they throw in the chicken parts and bones, grinding it up, mush it up, and add other chemicals like Chicken meat, water, salt, chicken flavour [wheat starch,
... breaded with water, wheat flour, yellow com flour, modified cornstarch etc. you get the drift. no wonder my sis said she once bit on a chicken nerve within the nugget. yikes!
therefore, the standard McNuggets are actually- quote from author- Assorted Leftover Chicken Parts Ground Up and Glued Back Together in Cute Little Shapes with Tons of Chemicals Added.
hahahhahha... :D
okay, im not exactly totally repelled from eating McNuggets again or absolutely swearing off McDonalds, but just a little aware of what im putting into my mouth :D
however, that doesn't deter me from munching on the cute little "chicken" mcnuggets ever again. maybe just once/twice a month =P
PS: Do you know normal food is supposedly the most biodegradable of all products. they aren't supposed to be indestructible or immune to decay. however, MacFood apparently can be left somewhere out in the atmosphere, exposed to moisture and stuff, but never decomposes. After several years.
there's even a man in the US who collects MacDonald's food. and according to the book, he still has the the Cheeseburger he bought in 1991.
