lessons learnt:

appreciate everything you have, including a nice bottle of shampoo, or a nice stable chair - i was deprived of a chair for two days! not that i really noticed but realised i haven't sat on a chair when i finally sat down in the cookhouse at camp 1.

be thankful you've a chair to sit on in class, imagine having to sit on the ground and listen to the teacher speak, as you arch your neck up, trying to fight against the ache. be thankful that you've a table to write on! and a nice working pen with ample ink.

don't take things/ people for granted. what if one day, good teachers like mr. marcus kuek or ... _insert name here_ disappeared? who would explain the answers to your revision paper or solve your problems?
