The reason for their huge success and fame is because they persevered. The huge inventions were all the results of spending months and years in the science laboratory experimenting.
Take Thomas Edison for example � When he was still a kid, his teacher scolded him �stupid� and thought he would never succeed when he grew up. However, that did not make the determined Edison to lose faith and confidence in himself. Instead, he put his heart and soul in his work. Hundreds of failures did not dishearten him. He continued trying extremely hard to achieve his target. Finally, the brilliant invention of the light bulb was the result of his perseverance and hard work.
